WooCommerce 11 Performance Changes: What Store Owners Should Test

WooCommerce 11.0 puts performance high on the release agenda, including faster order queries and product object caching work. Stores should still test their own catalog, checkout and extensions before assuming the gains apply equally.

What changed in WooCommerce 11

WooCommerce says 11.0 includes speed improvements for variable product pages and the Orders screen, alongside analytics changes and checkout recovery testing.

Product object caching is worth watching

WooCommerce reports that its product object caching experiment can make variable product pages roughly 9–12% faster and bundle processing during checkout 6–12% faster in its tests. Those figures are release-specific results, not a promise for every store.

Large stores should test order administration

The release includes an Orders-screen optimization intended to make order queries faster for larger stores and reduce timeout or empty-count problems.

Extensions can change the result

Custom checkout logic, product add-ons, subscriptions, search, pricing rules and third-party integrations can dominate the performance profile. Benchmark the paths your store actually uses.

Treat the update as a compatibility event

Use staging when possible, test checkout and order management, inspect logs, and compare performance before and after the update instead of relying only on a synthetic homepage score.
