WORDPRESS / COST GUIDE

How much does a WordPress website cost?

WordPress core is free, but a production website is not just the software. Cost depends on the design, content, hosting, functionality, integrations, migration risk and how much custom work the project actually needs.

01

Where the cost comes from

01

Domain and hosting

The infrastructure that keeps the site reachable, secure and fast enough for its workload.

02

Design and build

Planning, page structure, visual design, responsive implementation and content setup.

03

Commerce and custom functionality

WooCommerce, subscriptions, integrations, multilingual features, custom plugins and workflows.

04

Ongoing operation

Updates, backups, monitoring, fixes, content changes and continued development when needed.

02

What changes the quote most

01

New build or existing site

Inherited code and migration work can add investigation that a clean new build does not need.

02

Number and type of templates

Ten pages using two reusable templates are very different from ten unique, interactive page systems.

03

WooCommerce complexity

Products, checkout, shipping, tax, subscriptions, memberships and external systems can change scope quickly.

04

Content and migration

Moving posts, products, images, redirects, SEO data and user accounts needs planning and validation.

05

Custom development

The more the site must do beyond standard WordPress and WooCommerce behavior, the more engineering is involved.

06

Risk and launch conditions

Live revenue sites, fragile legacy systems and strict launch windows require more safeguards and testing.

03

How to keep the budget efficient

How to keep the budget efficient

  • Keep the parts of the existing site that already work.
  • Use reusable design systems instead of making every page unique.
  • Separate launch-critical work from optional later improvements.
  • Avoid adding plugins simply because they are available.
  • Define who owns content, assets, approvals and third-party accounts before the build begins.
QUOTE

What a useful quote should tell you

A quote should describe the scope, assumptions, major dependencies, what is included, what is excluded and what could change the price. WPCoreHub uses scope-based quotes and does not require an ongoing plan for a one-off project.

FAQ

FAQ

Is WordPress itself free?

Yes. WordPress core is free and open source. Hosting, domains, design, development and some third-party products can still cost money.

Can you quote a site before I know every technical detail?

Usually yes. We can start from goals, examples, existing URLs and known constraints, then identify what still needs discovery.

Is maintenance part of the build price?

It can be included when agreed, but one-off builds and ongoing support are separate choices. We do not force a recurring plan.

Can an existing site be cheaper than rebuilding?

Often, if its structure and code are still worth keeping. The right answer comes from reviewing what is reusable before choosing a rebuild.
